Laura Monk Music for Kids!
Over 40 years ago Laura began singing and performing for children and their grownups and now the Music has come full circle…right back where she started! Having young grandchildren close by and singing and dancing with them brought back the joy of making music with kids. It was obvious that a Kids Music aspect needed to be added to Laura Monk Music.
Laura brings her guitar and plays and sings a variety of classic children’s songs and new ones as well. Everyone joins in in one way or another! Rhythm instruments, scarves, balls and other accessories enrich activities making each session an interactive and lively sensory experience. You might find the group doing a dance to recorded music or acting out an active participatory story or maybe we are trees blowing in the wind… One thing is for sure….we are having FUN and developing a life long love of and appreciation for music!
Depending on your needs, Laura can schedule a one time, On Site Field Trip visit, or come on a regular basis (ie, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.). The program can be completely tailored to your needs. If you need a special theme to be a part of the musical experience Laura will work that in to the session. If you are having a special event and want to have an Intergenerational Program Laura can make that happen as well!
Events are scheduled based on 45 minutes. You can divide that time into whatever time frame you need. Of course, you can book a double session (1 1/2 hours) and divide that however you wish as well.
Laura is currently teaching Music and Movement classes for infants and toddlers and their Grownups at the ECenter Recreation Center in Sugar Hill, Ga. as well as programs for Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation and area day care centers. The word is out and folks are calling and scheduling events regularly!
